Post Description

Ok, I know that this album has not even been released yet, but I've heard all of the songs in their entirety.

'Rocks & Honey' is the first new studio album from Bonnie Tyler since the very addictive but badly produced 'Wings' in 2005. Fans have waited so long for a new release and this one (her sixteenth album) does not disappoint. It's modern and powerful, Bonnie hasn't had a hit in the UK for decades and this may be the one that might finally correct that.

With tracks written by Desmond Child, a duet with Vince Gill and a classic single with 'Believe In Me' (written by Child), 'Rocks & Honey' is arguably Bonnie Tyler's best work in years.

The aforementioned future single is a real highlight of the album, a very positive song and I would say that a good choice of single has been made here. Another gorgeous track is the ballad 'All I Ever Wanted', Bonnie has never sounded better and it could very well soon be considered a classic in Bonnie's back catalog. The duet with Vince Gill is called 'What You Need From Me', a good song but not as strong as the other two (in my opinion), I'm glad it wasn't released as a single as I wouldn't call it very radio friendly.

After hearing the rest of the album's tracks, fans are in for a treat. 'This Is Gonna Hurt' is a good opening song, very rocky and country (which is the general feel of the album), 'Flat On The Floor' is the same, very contemporary. 'Little Superstar' and 'Mom' are very beautiful and nice songs with plenty of heart. However, top marks for 'You Try', my favourite track of them all. Here is a very positive song that is amongst my favourite out of 'anything' she has ever recorded. Yes, the standard of the song and the rest, is that good.

Bonnie's voice sounds so much better on 'Rocks & Honey' than it did on 'Wings'. This is a Bonnie Tyler album that will appeal to people of all ages and, with the correct promotion, could win her a new generation of fans and finally see her receive a position in the UK album charts (her last top 30 album was in 1986!).

All tracks benefit from great arrangements and the production is fantastic. It's good to see it has a stylish and professional cover art as well! 'Rocks and Honey' is a welcome return and a triumphant comeback from a truly great singer. If there is any justice - this album will be huge!
