Post Description
Austin-based singer/songwriter Dana Falconberry is out with another lovely solo album Leelanau which is filled with sounds and scenery inspired by her native Michigan. Having established herself as a sough-after backing and collaborative vocalists with such acts as the psych folk group Peter and the Wolf, Matt Bauer, and the Heartless Bastards, Falconberry is returning to her own work backed herself by a six-piece band. The fourteen tracks weave songs and short interludes steeped in allegories, where nature represents existential issues or emotional signposts, all expressed in her high-pitched fragile vocals. Standouts include the title track, “Maple Leaf Red” and “Birch Bark.
