On the 8th of May 1773, a butler broke into his master's wine cellar while his boss was abroad in order to steal his finest claret. Rumour has it that he was so sloshed, he not only set the cellar ablaze but also set fire to his boss's entire home, which had stood since Tudor times.

We've come to magnificent Henham Park near Southwold in Suffolk with its beautiful parkland, well-stocked lake and ancient trees, but thanks to the fire, no trace of that Tudor mansion. The butler fled the scene and was never heard of again, but the house which he supposedly burnt down is still under here somewhere.
