The Hurry and The Harm is het vierde album van de band van zanger en songschrijver Dallas Green en de opvolger van het in 2011 verschenen Little Hell dat in thuisland Canada op nummer 1 in binnenkwam in de albumlijst, in de Amerika de Top 30 haalde en tot de tweede positie in Australië reikte. Het album werd overal ter wereld lovend ontvangen.‘Just as his piercing voice and languid tunes echo Neil Young's rustic side, a Neil-like tough-mindedness runs through Green’s stark meditations,’ aldus Spin Magazine en ‘blends folk, country and blues to create a mood designed to commiserate and uplift,’ volgens NPR. Naar aanleiding van The Hurry and The Harm tourt City and Colour in juni door Europa en stond op vrijdag 14 juni in de Melkweg in Amsterdam. Dallas Green doet deze tournee met een gloednieuwe band bestaande uit basist Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs, Dead Weather), gitarist Dante Schwebel (Hacienda, Dan Auerbach), drummer Doug MacGregor (Constantines) en pedal-steel gitarist en toetsenist Matt Kelly. 

The Hurry and The Harm werd in de herfst en winter van dit jaar opgenomen in de Blackbird Studios in Nashville, Tennessee en is wederom geproduceerd door Alex Newport (At The Drive-In, Death Cab for Cutie and The Mars Votla). Naast Green en basist Jack Lawrence hoor je het op het album toetsenist Bo Koster (My Morning Jacket), drummers Matt Chamberlain (Pearl Jam) en James Gadson (Bill Withers, BB King) en Spencer Cullum (Caitlin Rose) op pedal steel. Over zijn nieuwe album zegt Dallas Green: ‘I don’t have a lot of faith in myself, so it is hard for me to have a lot of faith in something I have created. But I’ve never been happier or prouder about something that I have done.’
