She Paints Words In Red is a brand new studio album by the band, still fronted by the band’s singer, songwriter and guitarist Guy Chadwick with lead guitarist Terry Bickers, drummer Pete Evans and bassist Matt Jury.
 
With no attempt to reinvent the genre, The House Of Love sticks to the old recipes with great success. The album is in no way the young person’s guide to classic Britpop, it is the perfect continuation of…, with new classics, like Trouble In Mind, Money Man and the new version of Purple Killer Rose. House of Love will have the words “Shine On” mentioned in every review for eternity and some nostalgics will probably find She Paints Words In Red a dull experience compared to the old stuff, but She Paints Words In Red has the potential to give the band a lot of new ones.

Looking back at the band’s history and the troubled Chadwick/ Bickers affair(s), ironically, their new stuff sounds amazingly calm and relaxing, very professional all the way through.
