Ruda leidt een dubbelleven. Naast zijn baan bij de politie van New York houdt hij zich als 'Santerio' (een soort voodoo-hogepriester) bezig met zwarte magie. Op een dag gebeurt er een drama: een jongen wordt doodgeschoten door een politieman en zijn moeder spreekt een vloek uit over het hele New Yorkse politieapparaat. Zal Ruda als Santerio machtig genoeg zijn om de dodelijke vloek op te heffen...?
