Lineup:
THE REFRESHMENTS:
Joakim Arnell - bass, lead & backing vocals
Johan "J.B." Blohm - piano, lead & backing vocals
Micke Finell - saxophone, acoustic guitar, backing vocals
Jonas Gšransson - electric guitar, backing vocals
Mats Forsberg - drums

Dave Edmunds - lead guitar, leadvocals (on tracks 5-12 & 14, disc 2)

First of all - there are two major flaws to this recording:
1. The recorder was placed in a purse where there also was a mobile telephone. This resulted in some irritating telephone signals interrupting the recording. The signals are only present on a few tracks.
2. The recorder was placed underneath our table which was close to the left side of the the stage only separated by a dance floor. When Dave came on people started dancing in front of us so the sound quality changes throughout the second set (disc 2).

The venue, CafŽ August, is situated on a beautiful spot by the banks of Loch VŠneren and a perfect place for some good old rock and roll in the nice summer weather. The show was divided by an intermission and the first set was by Refreshments only with Dave Edmunds joining in some songs out in the second set.

I've seen the Refreshments once before when they were visiting my home town in 2008. Back then they were supposed to be Dave's backing band, but Dave had to cancel due to sickness and the show went on as a Refreshments show instead. Great rock and roll by the Swedes back then and they hadn't lost any of their talent since then.

Dave Edmunds' been a personal favorite for years and finally seeing him live was well worth all the hours of traveling. On his first song of the evening, "From Small Things", his voice sounded bad as he couldn't seem to hit any of the notes, but thankfully it got better as the concert proceeded. His work on the Telecaster was, as ever, outstanding! I don't know how his amplifier survived the concert!
