Post Description

High is an unreleased album announced as complete in rough form on 8 August 2000 by NPGOnlineLtd.com (the announcement said that engineer Femi Jiya had delivered "a rough copy of another new album at the gate of Prince's estate").

The album's ten tracks had all been recorded in early-to-mid 2000, and continued the pop-funk vein of his previous few albums, but was due to be the first album released under the name "Prince" since his return to using that name in May 2000. Later in August 2000, however, Prince began work on The Rainbow Children, and decided to release the tracks planned for High in different forms. U Make My Sun Shine and When Will We B Paid? were released on the U Make My Sun Shine single, before U Make My Sun Shine was also released as a download on the NPG Music Club. Supercute and Underneath The Cream were released initially on the Supercute single, before also being released as downloads on the NPG Music Club. The Daisy Chain and Gamillah were initially released on The Daisy Chain single (credited to the New Power Generation), before also being released as downloads on the NPG Music Club. Golden Parachute, High, My Medallion and WhenEyeBlue.png Lay My Hands On U were released on the NPG Music Club. A single for High was at some point also planned, but was never released.

Of the album's ten tracks, eight ended up on The Chocolate Invasion (WhenEyeBlue.png Lay My Hands On U, Supercute, Underneath The Cream, High, Gamillah and U Make My Sun Shine) or The Slaughterhouse (Golden Parachute and The Daisy Chain) digital compilation albums.
