Purple Rain, misschien wel een van de meest geliefde en iconische albums van Prince aller tijden heeft eindelijk een welverdiende deluxe editie. Speciaal voor deze deluxe-expanded set is het originele album volledig remastered in Paisley Park onder supervisie van Prince zelf.

Daarnaast is er een tweede disc 'From The Vault & Previously Unreleased' aanwezig met 11 tracks uit de befaamde kluis van Prince. 

Op de derde disc staan de single versies en B-sides.
