Metallica 30th Anniversary Show's At The Fillmore (2011)

9 CD set.
December 16: Night number one of the week long series of shows celebrating the 30th Anniversary of Metallica is now available for download! There were so many surprises... from opening the show with The Call of Ktulu to No Remorse to performing a never before heard song, Hate Train, to the Diamond Head jam including the first ever live performance of It's Electric, this was the beginning of a very special week. The band were joined by special guests Biff Byford from Saxon, Brian Tatler and Sean Harris from Diamond Head, Jason Newsted and John Marshall (both VERY important players in Metallica's long history) and members of Apocalyptica ... it's all here!

December 20: Night number two, December 7, from the Fillmore 30th anniversary parties is now ready for you to download!! The night kicked off with a never before performed live song, To Live Is To Die, and continued with a night full of surprises and special guests. Marianne Faithfull joined the boys for The Memory Remains, Kid Rock stepped up to the mic for Turn The Page, and John Bush from Armored Saint belted out The Four Horseman. Ray Haller from Sweet Savage and Lou Reed also joined the band to perform songs they penned and then the night closed with a reunion of Mercyful Fate with all the members pounding out the Mercyful Fate medley.

December 25: Merry Christmas! Show number three from the historic Fillmore in San Francisco is now ready for you to download. The night opened with Suicide & Redemption, only the second time it has ever been played live. Beforethe special guest portion of the evening began, the boys pulled out a few songs not played in the Bay Area for many many years including... And Justice For All, Of Wolf And Man, I Disappear and The Outlaw Torn. Next up was the third "new" song of the week, Hell And Back before Met Club member Joseph Guariglia joined the band for Blitzkrieg. Jerry Cantrell from Alice In Chains was first up, followed by Animal from Anti-Nowhere League performing his classic So What! with the band... the night just kept rockin' with original Misfit Glenn Danzig and the Judas Priest legend Rob Halford all hitting the stage to belt out their classics. Once again all the guests hit the stage for the closer, Seek & Destroy.

December 31: Happy New Year!! The final show from the Fillmore on December 10 is now ready for download. And what a show it was!! The band closed out the four night 30th anniversary celebrations by starting the show with Orion, hitting a few favs like Welcome Home (Sanitarium) and Blackened and then played the fourth and final Death Magnetic outtake, Rebel of Babylon. The special guest portion of the evening started with Fan Club members Dennis and Annette Diaz joining the band for Blackened, followed by Bob Rock hitting the bass for Dirty Window and Frantic. The crowd went crazy for Geezer Butler and Ozzy as they joined the boys for Black Sabbath classics Iron Man and Paranoid... and then got very loud again as Dave Mustaine walked on stage for Phantom Lord, Jump In the Fire, and Metal Militia! It was old school Metallica night as Jason Newsted, Hugh Tanner, Ron McGovney, and Lloyd Grant all jammed with the guys during the night.
