Metallica - Metallica(Live) Feb.6 2016, AT&T Park San Francisco, California.
Metallica formed the independent record label Blackened Recordings and took full ownership of its albums and videos. As of 2015, the band is in production of its tenth studio album, slated to be released in 2016.
Meanwhile....
"San Francisco, do you want heavy?" Hetfield asked. "Metallica will give you heavy."
The band proceeded to do just that, twisting like a cyclone through a set that was filled with mostly old favorites. The group came out swinging, connecting strongly early on with a dramatic "For Whom the Bell Tolls" and the incredible adrenaline rush that is "Fuel," and only grew stronger as the night progressed.
It was great to see that, even after 35 years in the business and over 100 million albums sold, Metallica can still deliver such a powerful — and, yes, utterly heavy — outing.
All four members were in top form, working a long stage that stretched across most of the outfield. Behind the players were four tall video screens, which magnified the action for all to see. Pyrotechnics flew from the top of the set and there were beautiful laser light displays.
Trujillo was in constant motion for much of the night, plucking at his instrument in ways that would've made his hero — late, great jazz bassist Jaco Pastorius — proud. Hetfield sounded strong on the microphone, especially on the stunning version of "The Unforgiven," while Ulrich was the battery that made the whole thing go.Well I would say that worked pretty damn good.
