James Arthur won in 2012 won de Britse X Factor. Met inmiddels meer dan 1,3 miljoen exemplaren verkocht werd het winnende nummer IMPOSSIBLE (een cover van Shontelle) de best verkopende single van een The X Factor-winnaar in Groot Brittannië. 
Twee jaar terug won James Arthur tijdens de Franse NRJ Music Awards de prijs voor meest veelbelovende buitenlandse artiest.

Zijn single Say You Won't Let Go stond onlangs een paar weken op de eerste plaats van de UK Hitlist Top40.
