MASON RACK BAND - one of the hardest working blues and roots bands in Australia Originating from the Gold Coast in Queensland, Mason Rack Band is not afraid to break all the musical genre rules. The bands new album Limits of Grip does just that, flaunting expectation by combining a classic mix of heavy rock, blues, jazz and roots complimented by the modern flavours of country punk, jazz, alternate rock and reggae funk. Known for a swampy blues / rock sound the band influences include flashes of Tom Waits, Jimi Hendrix, Tex Perkins, Jeff Buckley and Muddy Waters with roots extending to Ben Harper. Throw in a slide guitar, raspy vocals, a rocking bluesy bass, massive drum percussion and the result is a spectacular kaleidoscope of musical genres. The popular three peice is renowned for their amazing live stage performances. Punters have been kicking up their heels for years to the drop down percussion beats that involve all three members of the band and the audience. The band has played alongside artists including Xavier Rudd, Jack Johnson, Buddy Guy and Keith Urban to name a few.

Die Mason Rack Band hat keine Angst alle musikalischen Regeln des Genres zu brechen.. Das neue Album, Limits of Grip, macht genau das, großspurig gehen sie über die Erwartungen hinweg, kombinieren Classic Hardrock mit Blues, Jazz und Roots Musik. Sie sind bekannt für ihren Swamp-Blues-Rock Sound der seine Wurzeln bei Tom Waits, Muddy Waters bis hin zu Ben Harper findet. Mische eine Slide-Gitarre mit einer rauen Stimme, einem rockingen Blues-Bass und massivem Schlagzeug/Percussion das Ergebnis ist ein spektakuläres Kaleidoskop der Musik Genre. Das Trio ist bekannt für eine erstaunliche Bühnenshow.

Mason Rack fing mit sechs Jahren an Schlagzeug zu spielen, beigebracht hat es ihm sein musikalischer Vater Billy Rack. Später lernte er die Gitarre zu spielen und wurde ein Meister in Sachen Bluesrock., spielte insgesamt mehr als 2000 Shows wobei er auch große Festivals in Australien und Kanada nicht ausließ. Seine krächzende, raue Stimme wird von Fans als sehr sexie beschrieben und erinnert an Tom Waits und Led Zeppelin.

Nathan stammt von der Insel Tasmanien. Nachdem er die ganze Welt bereist hatte landete er 2005 in der Musikszene von Queensland. Spielte Bass bei verschiedenen Blues-Bluesrockformationen wie Manzuma, The Seasons Call und Top Deck. Irgendwann trafen sich Nathan und Mason um eine neue Band zu gründen.Nathan's musikalische Einflüsse gehen zurück auf RHCP, Led Zepplin, Ben Harper, Jimi Hendrix, Incubus und am Bass auf Victor Wooten, Flea, Juan Neilson, John Paul Jones und Marco Rodi. Er spielt einen Funky Bass Stil und liebt es sich mit dem Schlagzeuger auf der Bühne zu duellieren.

Joel „Thunderfoot“ Purkess kommt aus Edmonton in Kanada und schloss sein Studium an der Grant MacEwan Jazz College mit Auszeichnung ab bevor er sich der Mason Rack Band nach einer sechs monatigen Tour anschloss. Joel, der nun in Australien lebt, ist einer der besten Drummer die Mason jemals gesehen hat. Joel's lies sich von Virgil Donati, Buddy Rich, Gavin Harrison, Chad Smith, Jojo Mayer und Tony Williams inspirieren. Er ist bekannt für seine vor Energie strotzenden Drum Solos, erliebt die feurigen Rhythmen und ist damit ein perfekter Drummer für die Mason Rack Band.
