"Skyfall" is the official theme song to the 007 feature film Skyfall™. Released in October 2012 in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the release of Dr. No, the first James Bond film. The song peaked at #2 on the UK Singles Chart and #8 on the Billboard Hot 100. Adele was favorably compared to Shirley Bassey, a famous singer of James Bond themes. Adele had just released her second album, 21, when she was approached by Lia Vollack (Sony Pictures President of Music) about writing and recording the newest James Bond theme song. She co-wrote "Skyfall" with producer Paul Epworth, who had worked with her on 21.
