BATTLE ARENA TOSHINDEN features eight different fighters of different nationalities and fighting styles. The characters are very detailed as to properly represent their respective cultures. Each characters fighting style is also very different, offering lots of variety. To make your life easier, TONSHINDEN offers the chance to assign the shoulder buttons to special moves making them easier to complete. To make the combat more realistic, youre able to side step attacks and circle around your opponents. When youre getting low on health, you can give it your all with one of the various death moves that inflict massive damage to your enemy. Instead of your typical side view in fighting games, TOSHINDEN uses a camera that zooms in on the battlefield, catching all the action. The fighting arenas available in TOSHINDEN are huge and are very interactive. Enter at your own risk. 

Battle Arena Toshiden 2 NTSC
Battle Arena Toshinden 2 is a weapon based 3D fighting game. It was released for the Arcade, PlayStation, Sega Saturn and PC. It is the sequel of Battle Arena Toshinden. 
The core gameplay of Battle Arena Toshinden 2 remains unchanged from the first game. The game includes a simple combo system. The 3D movement is also altered to create slightly better balance in battle. Differentiating from the first game, dodge rolling will no longer make the character temporarily immune to the opponents attack ,in the first game, it was possible for a character to dodge straight through even the most deadly attacks. Also, as in the first game, a player falling out of the ring will result in a ring out, only this time, if both players fall out of the ring at the same time, the one who falls out last will be declared the winner. 

Battle Arena Toshiden 3 PAL
BATTLE ARENA TOSHINDEN 3 continues the action of the Toshinden, a tournament in which the best fighters in the world gather to pummel each other. Pick one of the 32 playable characters, each with unique combinations and weapons that include swords, scythes, spears, pistols, and strangler arms. When weapons arent enough, slam your opponent into the walls and the ceiling of the arena for extra damage. BATTLE ARENA TOSHINDEN 3 also allows for a choice of graphic styles choose the 30 fps option for high graphic detail, or choose the 60 fps to experience faster gameplay. Either way, the excitement of the Toshinden will be right in your living room.

Battle Arena Toshiden 4 PAL
Also known as Toshinden Subaru, Toshinden 4 is the last installment in the franchise to his the PS1. Unlike previous installments, it only saw release in Japan and the PAL region. It features teams of 3 characters, but like the previous games, only 1 character fights at a time. The only returning characters are Eiji and Vermillion, the rest of the roster is completely new. The graphics lacked polish overall with uninspiring stage designs and blocky character models.
