GEYSIR is an eclectic progressive rock band formed in Germany in 2009 by vocalist and pianist Jenny THIELE, violinist Frank BREMPEL, guitarist Thomas MUHLHOFF, bassist Immanuel SCHULTE-ONTROP, 
and drummer Benni KOCH. 
The quintet met at school, where they were all studying music. The band was forged by the five's unique and similar musical vision and a desire to create innovative and mature music. 
The band forges an alarming amount of different music styles to create their sound, including the likes of prog legends KING CRIMSON, EMERSON LAKE & PALMER, and KANSAS, the modern textures of RADIOHEAD, 
BJORK, and the ESBJORN SVENSSON TRIO, and classical touches of GOETHE and TCHAIKOVSKY. The band released their debut self-titled EP in 2010, and a follow-up EP titled Urworte in 2011.
