The much anticipated colourful new release from the dynamic seven strong ensemble offers evocative images, blistering tunes and vivid songs with a virtuosity and vitality which draws from their classical and jazz informed backgrounds. Harnessing energy from the elements, and inspiration from their adventures across wild British Landscapes, the arrangments ring with a stark intention and originality. ‘Forecast’ was recorded in the mountains of Snowdonia in February 2010, and The Old Dance School join forces here with legendary producer Calum Malcolm (The Blue Nile, Lau, Capercaille) who has captured their rich orchestrations, exciting fiddle duels, soaring brass, wind and vocal harmonies, and rip-roaring rhythms.
