The 750 people who turned up to the Carter Family Fold in Hiltons, Virginia on July 5, 2003 to watch "The Bluegrass Tradition" got a special treat when Johnny Cash played a surprise 30 minute set as a tribute to his wife June Carter Cash who had passed away on May 15, 2003 bringing with him guitarist Jerry Hensley (ex Johnny Cash band member) and Bobby Starnes on bass Johnny played sitting down due to a disease he had - autonomic neuropathy - (a disintegration of the nerves) this was the last public performance by Johnny Cash the video has now been synced to a stereo soundboard.
