Post Description

This album is truly wonderful. What’s more this album certainly sounds as good after being left on the shelf for a few weeks rest, from a long residency in the 6 disc player. What’s very interesting about this release is the popularity of this feature; one of the highest all time views, and back in this week’s most popular posts, at No 1. This album is sure generating a lot of interest, which is not surprising taking into consideration how great this album is. Now how many times have we heard this? Gone out and come home disappointed, as one person put it to me at this year’s NHL Festival H2012, saying he never read’s or trusts a reviewer’s point of view. It’s true I’ve gone out; bought albums off the back of a great review, only to get home, wondering what on earth I’m listening to. But then what pleases one person won’t necessarily please another. If you’re into a quality piece of blues, roots, pop, numbers, you’re sure to love this one. I see this in the genre, as very fitting popular music, suitable for peak hour radio. The quality of this album is not just down to the quality of music; but also the whole package get’s the big thumbs up in terms of artwork, liner notes, and presentation, often lacking this day and age with online music. So with good looks, tight knit catchy numbers, this is sure to be popular, here for the long term. Because this does not lose its freshness, sounding as good, if not better each visit. Do hope that ‘Goodman & Baker’ will be another super guitar, harmonica duo here for the long term, looking forward to many more offerings. They work so well together like a hand in glove. Steve Baker is no stranger in the harmonica community. One of them players you would place in the Elite bracket of World Of Harmonica. Not only a True Master of the use of the harmonica, he is also well known as technician having designed a special harmonica bearing his own name an SBS... Steve Baker Special. So you’re not just treated to excellent harmonica playing, but Steve Bakers ear for his own tunings, coupled with his own unique tone, and balance. There is a nice solid chemistry in musically conversation going on here, with no lyric, musician, vocal, instrument, or note out of place. Dave Goodman plays many types of stringed instruments here, sings very nicely indeed. Dave is the main lyric writer, and composer. A solid album indeed.
