Though Norah Jones was first presented as a torch-oriented jazz singer, that has always been only a part of her musical skill set. Even her monster debut single, "Don't Know Why," features a piano solo that owes more to the sweet Nashville sounds of Floyd Cramer than to Bill Evans. On her ensuing albums--as well as on her country-rock side project, the Little Willies--Jones has showcased the folk and country elements of her always agreeable music, and the live set captured on Live from Austin TX (originally recorded for the long-running public television series Austin City Limits) shows all parts of her musical personality.
