The Strain is een Amerikaanse horrorserie van de zender FX. De serie
ging in premiere in 2014.

De serie vertelt het verhaal van Dr. Ephraim Goodweather, het hoofd 
van het Center for Disease Control Canary Team in New York City. Hij 
en zijn team moeten de mysterieuze uitbraak van een virus dat vampirisme 
lijkt te veroorzaken, onderzoeken. Terwijl het virus zich verspreidt, 
moeten Eph en zijn team een oorlog uitvechten die het lot van
de mensheid bepaalt.
