Post Description

Wow...wow...upon being asked for a title to this post that is all i could think, it is still all i can think. This album, or at least both Down By The River and Stolen Dance are unbelievably good. Milky chance sings with the melancholy joy of a warm summer evening spent alone on a grey beach. Stolen Dance is a perfect example of this peaceful, somewhat heart-wrenching, sound that this new German musician brings to the musical world.

Stolen Dance stays consistent with the semi-gravely, dreamy voice that Milky Chance brings to many of his other songs. It has a certain reminiscent vibe that reminds me of a girl that a friend of mine loved in high school. He and she did all the things you would expect of a couple acting out the motions of love, but never actually connected. The relationship ended and years later he looks back on the situation not with regret, but with the content understanding (pardon the cliche) that they were not meant to be together. 5/5

Down By The RIver shows his absolutely undeniable ability to sing. This song has an interesting and consistent beat but is only a masterpiece because of the beautiful vocals that Milky Chance brings to his tracks. Additionally this song along with the other single he released set a clear image for, hopefully, the homogeneous nature the rest of the album will take on.
