This is a project I wanted to get done for nearly a decade. In 1997, through the help of a friend, JEMS and said friend shot the Screaming Trees in Olympia with access to the soundboard. For the better part of 10 years this project sat as two distinct hi8 master tapes and a DAT from the board and the audience.

A couple of years ago a friend of another friend offered to do the authoring and the resulting DVD you see here that cuts back and forth between cameras synced to the sound.

As you can see from the attached screengrabs, the picture is dark as the show was not lit for video and had even less overhead light than the average club show. On the other hand it is clear and steady as she goes, so while not ideal, it is highly watchable and if you're a fan of the band there is plenty to see.

The soundboard sound source doesn't hurt either and the menu (a little cute to be sure) completes the package. At the end of the show, Lanegan leaves the stage but the band does one more song. Josh Homme from Kyuss (now Queens of the Stone Age) is the extra guitar player.

The Trees didn't tour much in support of Dust and I think this show comes towards the end of that road. I previously torrented the audio, and despite the darkish image, I can't imagine a fan of the band who would not want to see this. Beggars, after all, can't be choosers.

Butterking for JEMS

En nogmaals een vet bedankt voor de oorspronkelijke filmers en uploaders !
