The fourth season aired on August 2nd, 2013 and started with a pre-season episode called "The Dirt" featuring interviews with all of the teams featured in season three. Although "Gold Rush: South America" features only the Hoffman crew in South America they stated that the are preparing for another Alaskan-Canadian season that includes the Schnabel and Hurts. Parker Schnabel has been guest mining on new land.
