Joshua Radin has been romancing the world of music for nearly a decade, and in that time he has climbed to the top of his game. He has been seen and heard everywhere; including featured on Ellen multiple times (including her wedding day), and as part of the soundtrack for Scrubs, Grey’s Anatomy, House, and more. Why so much exposure, you might ask? It’s simple…. he writes heart-wrenching songs based on experiences that most anyone can relate to. Whether it be heartbreak, recovering from emotional torment or meeting that special someone, Radin clearly demonstrates full understanding of life. Radin is now sharing a new, happier milestone and is doing so via means of the immaculate release of Wax Wings. This is the kind of album you can leave on and literally play over and over again, or at least I did. Wax Wings is Radin’s fifth studio album, featuring 11 incredibly flawless songs. The release commences with a bubbly folk song called “Beautiful Day”, and you can’t help but sing along to the catchy chorus. “When We’re Together” is an anthem for lovers, young and old. Also featured is “Lovely Tonight”, which was initially recorded in ’06 with Ryan Adams on guitar. This time, “Lovely Tonight” a gorgeous piano accompaniment replaces the guitar with a slower, more romanticized tempo, and more focus on vocal harmony. This song never fails to give me goosebumps, and I foresee it escorting many brides down the aisle. The big hitters on the album are easily “Like They Used To”, “In Her Eyes”, and “My, My Love”.
