klaxon gueule[Avant-Prog ]
RIO/Avant-Prog • Canada
Klaxon Gueule is an actuelle musique band from Québec founded in September 1995 by Bernard Falaise (Miriodor, Les Projectionnistes), Michel F. Côté (Bruire) and Alexandre St-Onge, all musicians of renown.
Bernard Falaise is a guitarist that was involved in many avant-gardiste projects and bands, notably Miriodor and Les Projectionnistes (as stated above) but also Papa Boa, The Unexpected, Mecha Fixes Clock and Foodsoon. He also produced albums for Québécois artists and released two solo albums.
Michel F. Côté is a reputed drummer / percussionist who played with lots of great musicians and bands such as Bob, Mecha Fixes Clock, (juste) Claudette, Pink Saliva and Bruire. He co-founded the label &records, participated in the development of the avant-garde scene in Québec and works in scenic arts (theatre, mostly). He also released many solo albums
Alexandre St-Onge is a bassist and composer who studied literature and philosophy before becoming a musician. Apart from playing in Klaxon Gueule, he is a member of Shalabi Effect, Et Sans, K.A.N.T.N.A.G.A.N.O and mineminemine. He released six solo albums, too.
Since 1997, Klaxon Gueule released five albums, four of them released on the Québécois musique actuelle label, Ambiances Magnétiques and the other on &records.
On their albums, they have collaborated with many excellent musicians. To name a few, Jean Derome, Sam Shalabi and Gordon Allen.
This band should appeal to people looking for something different than most of the usual avant-progressive bands.
