Recorded between November 2005 and April 2006, Bernard Haitink’s cycle of the Beethoven symphonies was one of the most talked about classical events of 2006. Nearly ten years later these recordings are still considered to be amongst the finest in the repertoire, demonstrating why fresh interpretations of Beethoven's symphonies are so important and why his music is still so relevant today.
