The Young Pixels are a husband/wife indie duo from rural Manitoba. Their sound is gritty and melodic, simple and honest, as the two move between electric guitar, drums and vocals. The Pixels have received national radio play on CBC Radio One and college radio. CBC Manitoba's Scene host Ismaila Alfa stated,"they do rock like it should be done....simple, loud and full of life!"
Since they met 7 years ago, the Pixels have recorded 2 albums at home, an EP The Receptive (2012) at Garageland Studio in Brandon, and released a full-length album For The Love last Summer. The album tells the story of the couple's challenge to follow their love for the music while raising a young family and managing their organic grain farm--the challenge in balancing dreams with responsibility to the roots. For The Love climbed to #3 on the University of Manitoba (UMFM) charts.
The Pixels have opened for Imaginary Cities, AroarA, Shotgun Jimmie, Nathan, Federal Lights and Kinnie Starr.
