Description
Name: Default Folder X
Version: 5.0.2
Mac Platform: Intel
Includes: Pre-K'ed
OS version: 10.10 or later
Processor type(s) & speed: 64-bit

What's New in Version 5.0.2:
Feature Enhancements
Default Folder X 5.0.2 is faster and more reliable.
Localized in Japanese, French, German, and Danish.
Default Folder X now detects that a file dialog has closed even if an application performs a long operation afterwards.
Rebound (reselecting the last selected file in a folder) is turned on by default in column view. If you use the keyboard to navigate in file dialogs, you may want to turn this off. To do so, hold down the Option key while selecting Preferences from the Default Folder X menu in the menubar, then turn off "Re-select the last selected file in column view".
Save dialogs are no longer auto-expanded every time you use one. This is still done once, but after that, Default Folder X will leave it in whatever state you left it.
There's now an "extra settings" preference dialog that allows you to fiddle with various details. Hold down the Option key while choosing Preferences to get to it.
When multiple items are selected in an Open dialog, Default Folder X's preview view will show a preview of the first item rather than turning off previews.
Alias files are now resolved when using Option-arrow keys to traverse recent folders.
There's now a dark background behind the name of a Finder window when you hover over it so that the name is more legible.
Changed Finder window tracking so that Default Folder X's list of windows is updated immediately if you quit the Finder or Path Finder.
The user guide is now online, making the Default Folder X application take up less disk space.
Applications will no longer appear in the Recent Files list.
Folder sets are always sorted alphabetically.
Bug Fixes

Fixed a bug that could cause Default Folder X to hang during startup.
Fixed problems with Default Folder X not enhancing some file dialogs.
Corrected a problem with Default Folder X's controls popping up after a file dialog closed.
Fixed a bug that could cause the Save button to stop working when printing to PDF files, saving files in Word or saving attachments in Mail.
Fixed problems with tags and comments not being added to files from Save dialogs.
The Finder drawer now correctly appears on All My Files and search result windows.
Fixed a number of crashes, including ones in the recent file and folder menus, license code entry, building the utility menu, and the drag zone.
Corrected a bug that caused the path menu (above the file listing in file dialogs) to be incorrect on some occasions on non-English systems.
When importing v4 preferences, default folders aren't added if the application they're associated with can't be found.
If you have a file dialog open and Option-click to switch to another application, DFX no longer mistakenly thinks the dialog has closed.
Default Folder X's toolbar and icons were sometimes offset by 23 pixels when running in Full Screen mode. This has been fixed.
Default Folder X will no longer put its windows behind the Dock if it's at the bottom of your screen.
Names of items in the drag zone no longer get left on your screen when a file dialog closes.
Fixed Reveal in Finder in the Favorite folder preferences so it works correctly.
The contents of Default Folder X's preference tabs are no longer occasionally mis-aligned.
User interface glitches and misalignment of items have been fixed.
Fixed Default Folder X's SetSaveName AppleScript command so it works correctly.
DFX would sometime pop up an incorrect confirmation about importing your preferences after a software update was installed. This has been fixed.
Compatibility Fixes
Default Folder X now disables its keyboard shortcuts when Alfred 2 pops up its window.
Fixed a bug that resulted in Default Folder X's controls not hiding when they should while dragging a window in InDesign.
Fixed compatibility with Final Cut Pro's Share dialogs.
Default Folder X now works in TextMate 1.x.
DFX now works in Finder Get Info windows when retargeting aliases.
Fixed a conflict with MailPlane 3 that would cause it to always default to your Applications folder.
Fixed a conflict with Yoink.
Enabled Default Folder X in MKVToolNix, Spearfish III, Stingray, and Infix.
Regardless of your preference settings, Default Folder X will no longer default to a document's parent folder in ProTools because it causes problems for plugins.
Updated to Sparkle 1.13 (even though Default Folder X wasn't susceptible to the recently reported Sparkle security issue).
Description:
Default Folder X attaches a toolbar to the right side of the Open and Save dialogs in any OS X-native application. The toolbar gives you fast access to various folders and commands. You just click on the buttons to go to your favorite and recently used folders, manage the folders and files shown in the list, and make changes to your settings. It also fixes a number of problems in Open and Save dialogs, "rebounding" to the last selected file, putting the path listing back in the top menu, and correcting bugs in scrolling column views.
Features

Directory assistant: You can access the contents of your recent, favorite, and open folders right from Default Folder X's toolbar.
Real time saving: If you're constantly saving things inside the same folder, Default Folder X can remember that folder for you.
Finder management: Default Folder X lets you open up or save to any Finder window with a single click.
Instant Recall: To help you quickly return to folders you've recently used, Default Folder X remembers them for you.
Spotlight on the spot: Default Folder X lets you add Spotlight keywords, OpenMeta tags, and Finder labels on the spot, while you're still in the Save dialog.
Information central: With Default Folder X you get previews below every Open dialog, expanded to fill the available space. Need to see more detail? Click on the image and it zooms up to full size.
Workflow without work: Rather than make you learn and set up a new application, Default Folder X blends into OS X.
