The Basis of Music:
This is simply a book on music theory - straightforward, concise, and practical. Great for a new person looking to understand music theory, and also great for musicians like me who just need to review some definitions. Includes exercises at the end of each section.
How To Play the Piano Despite Years of Lesson:
This book aims to give new and experienced pianists a new view on playing and composing music. I haven't had any time to read the book myself, so I really can't provide an opinion on how effective it is. You be the judge Wink
Super Sight Reading Secrets by Howard Richman:
"An innovative, step-by-step program for keyboard (and other instrument players) of all levels." Basically a book that aims to improve a musician's ability to sight-read sheet music. Should be useful for you musicians out there who plan to audition at a music program/university.
Composing Music: A New Approach by William Russo:
Great book on how to compose music. Great introduction to new composers. Also useful for experienced composers looking to improve their skills. Also includes exercises for a more interactive learning experience.
Learn to Play Ragtime Piano the Alfred Way:
Simply a book that introduces the pianist to the ragtime style. Includes 9 ragtime solos by Scott Joplin.
