REVIEW:
The Roundhouse gigs were the last of the small English Tour the Stones made in 1971, of which few recordings survive; this show was recorded though and appeared first on a vinyl platter called London Roundhouse (TMOQ 71029) that came out right at the end of 1971 to be re-released two years later (TMOQ 23P1025- RS 539) with 10 tracks in excellent stereo audience including Prodigal Son; in 1979 Around in a Roundhouse (Mushroom Rec.1812) was released presenting 11 songs in a multi colour limited edition vinyl album (at times there was also an IMP label). On compact in 1993 London Roundhouse was released in Japan (King Snake Rec. 001) featuring 10 tracks, taken from vinyl; this concert was also released on Farewell Tour 1971 (HIV 23P 1004) the same tracks were used for London Roundhouse 1971 (TMOQ HIV 23P-1004); there was also another farewell Tour 1971 (Bodyguard Prod.) said to be a copy of London Roundhouse (TMOQ 71029), Then in 1994 The Lost Marquee Tapes version 1 (VGP 030) with 5 songs and in 1996 was released again The Lost Marquee Tapes (VGP 030) 2nd version this time featuring 11 tracks. In 2006 Get Your Leeds Lungs Out (SODD 014) was released offering for the 250 copies a cdr that featured the Roundhouse tracks. In 2009 came out Get Your Leeds Lungs Out (apart from Leeds songs amongst which Street Fighting Man) that had all 11 songs but in mono; also Get Yer Leeds Lungs Out (DAC 089), Dead Flowers and Stray Cat Blues were released on Renny s Album in 1975 (ZAP 7886) and in 1980 on Stray Cat Blues 2 LP (Toasted Rec.25914), 5 songs were released on British Blues Jam (CBM 3426), 8 tracks appeared on Don t You Wanna Live With Me On Route 66? (KKP A-4). This release is said to have the master tape and starts with the band s introduction and then the first 4 songs are in good mono, while Love In Vain as well as other tracks are in soundboard stereo. It must remembered that Live With Me, Stray Cat Blues, Love In Vain, Midnight Rambler and Honky Tonk Women have been released officially together with the De Luxe version of Sticky Fingers last year, so this release presents them replacing the master tape ones; the final three songs come from Leeds, again have been officially released together with the Marquee DVD set.
