Post Description

A well-designed layout makes the difference between a mere collection of rolling stock and a fascinating and enjoyable model railway.
In this 2 hours, 25 minute DVD, Paul Lunn and Paul Marshall-Potter show in detail how they use their practical design and building skills to create layouts - including all the stages from sketch pad to completed scene.
The project layout is built in 4mm/OO scale but they also show how to apply the designs to other scales with great success.
With some designs firmly based on real locations, the team take you through the process of turning ideas and aspirations into a workable model railway.
Paul Lunn is well known for his layout plans which have featured in magazines and books including the Peco Setrack plan books.
Paul Marshall-Potter is an experienced modeller, photographer and layout builder with a broad range of skills. He is known for his own OO scale layout Albion Yard, and an N gauge layout 'Collier Street' built for Railway Modeller from a Paul Lunn design.
From this background, the team show the design and build of the 'Wharfedale Road' layout. This was built specifically for the DVD and the presentation shows developments of the design, as well as various interpretations of the same track plan.
If you are planning a new layout or improving an existing one, this DVD is for you.

Among the topics covered in detail are:
• The Check List
• Prototypical Track Plans
• Freelance Track Plans
• From 2D plan to 3D Layout
