Ok... Hi again folks. With the overblown remastering phase of redoing almost all earlier issue CDs now being seen as pretty much a total debacle for much to almost all of these due to heavyhandedness (loudness war) and total ineptitude (brickwalling, clipping, etc.), I think a lot more people now truly appreciate these earlier CDs as being far superior in almost all cases. Of course, so many of these older CDs are just rare now or very expensive to obtain when you can find them at all nowadays. And, many CDs were just quite hard to locate to buy even when they were new to the market many years ago. And, that was probably the case with this particular CD listed here. I think that the LP of this was also quite a rarity being released on a small label with probably a small limited production run with its distribution most only in the Northeast US area. It is one that you hardly ever really see for sale even amongst full time collectors/sellers. And that is exactly the same case with this very rare CD version, hardly ever do you ever seen this one being offered for sale. And, whenever it is, only by a collector/seller on eBay or the like usually from a range of $40-$120. I would think this only had a limited first press in 1988 and never saw even a second pressing for this CD issue. Both formats being so rare that this release is usually never even mentioned at sites pertaining to Jane Byaela and her music, even her own!. Speaking of which, Byaela has only released two proper albums at all in a long musical career. Her second release 'Burning Silver' was released in 1994 and it was a well-received collection of songs also. It being all the much more available, in comparison to this rare and scarcely seen first album. You can below read the only biography of her and review of this release you can really find online at all. Byaela has written many more compositions that these two releases reflect and you can also find her on many regional folk music compilations from time to time. She has really devoted much more time to her artwork in the past 15 years or so, but she still performs at many appearances each year. Well... here you have some very good female folk music singing and acoustic guitar playing in the Joni/Suzanne type of musical artist's realm, so grab this upload if it interests you. You probably won't see this rare CD come around much at all again. Enjoy...

An especially pleasing all-acoustic record, soaring artfully and plunging bluesily along on a beguiling and stylized roller-coaster ride that is twice as interesting and three times more honest than Suzanne Vega's best work.
