Here's Leon Russell circa 1973 doing a set of classic country covers with some of Nashville's finest session men--never has an album been more straightforward. That's not to say it's disappointing--or great, for that matter--it just is what it is. Hardly essential, it's nevertheless a downright enjoyable listen. And any chance to hear Curly Chalker play steel guitar is welcome indeed.
