Met Beacon Theatre Live From New York laat Joe Bonamassa zien dat hij zich op het podium toch het meest thuis voelt. Beacon Theatre is een locatie met een barokke decor en een akoestiek die is gemaakt voor dit soort muziek. Bij dit concert wordt hij op twee songs bijgestaan door de onvolprezen Beth Hart en daarnaast springen John Hiatt en zijn vocale voorbeeld Paul Rodgers op het podium. Maar het is vooral Bonamassa die met zijn vlijmscherpe gitaarspel en opvallend goede stem de show steelt op deze bluray die zowel beeld- als geluidstechnisch prima werd opgenomen. Daarnaast is de songkeuze geraffineerd. Bonamassa eert voorbeeld Gary Moore in diens Midnight Blues, doet samen met Rodgers songs van The Free en Bad Company en komt zelfs weg met een geslaagde versie van Leonard Cohens Bird On A Wire.
