This is the Volume License Edition for Microsoft Office for Mac 2016. The version included is 15.13.3 and there is NO patch needed, it installs without any serial.
After the install you are prompted to sign In to Access Cloud Storage. You can skip this step.
Auto-updater:
Since this is a Volume License you can make use of the auto-updater.
However, the included version is the latest available at the time of this post.

You do NOT need to block any connections but you can. I recommend to block all connections.
The auto-update needs the following connections allowed:
23.99.121.207 on port 443 (https)
scus-config.officesapps.live.com on port 443 (https)
Basically you can block everything Office related minus the hosts to auto-update. Also, do not block the connections needed for Outlook or OneNote.

NOTE:

This needs 6.45 GB of space on your hard-disk. It installs the complete package of Office including Word, Excel, OneNote, Outlook and PowerPoint. It also installs all languages and fonts.
Do NOT delete any languages since this can cause the apps to crash and reset the license!
