Country-pionier Ruud Hermans uit Tilburg opereert in de groepen 
Heating (van 1967 tot 1972) en The Tumbleweeds (van 1972 tot 1977). 
In 1977 vormt hij zijn eigen countrygroep de Ruud Hermans Band, 
die in 1981 omgedoopt wordt tot Tulsa. Tevens brengt hij solo-platen uit 
en heeft hij een eigen country radioprogramma bij de KRO.
