Shane Parish - Autechre Guitar-(PAL095)-24-48 (2026)


Shane Parish joins dots between the blues, jazz, modal chamber musics and Autechre in a wholly impressive suite of covered cuts from their golden mid ‘90s run. He’s a mad lad for taking on this project and clearly, highly capable of executing it.

Parish is preceded by his reputation as a virtuoso guitarist who loves “to improvise and play tightly composed music”, with particular passion for “intricacy and simplicity, intensity and subtlety”, as heard on his dozens of LPs for Tzadik, MIE, Feeding Tube, and live as part of Bill Orcutt’s band. Orcutt’s Palilalia label was also home to the LP that really placed Parish on the map for many, 2024’s ‘Repertoire’, and gave first glimpse of his taste for reframing ‘90s/‘00s electronica in his viral take on AFX’s ‘Avril 14th’, an approach which is beautifully honed and expanded to the fullest on this bold LP with arguably instant classic results.
