If you use Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) to protect your computer against all sorts of malware you might wonder why this program doesn’t update when new sets of malware definitions have been released. Normally you would expect that an antivirus program updates almost immediately when new definitions are released. MSE doesn’t work that way because Microsoft has decided to merge MSE Update with Microsoft Update. Which means your system will update Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) only once a day if you are lucky.
Phrozen Up2Date is a nifty little tool that lets you automatically update your Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE). You can easily set the interval between each check for updates.
You need to apply the update interval each time you have upgraded (not updated) Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE).
Phrozensoft Up2Date v1.0 only works with Windows XP.
