De boeken van de Engelse fantasy, steampunk en science fiction schrijver Adrian Tchaikovsky heb ik eerder behandeld, maar na drie jaar is het wel eens tijd de boel een beetje te updaten. Tchaikovsky is vooral bekend door zijn Shadows of the Apt reeks en heeft inmiddels aardig wat boeken geschreven, maar vooralsnog hebben de Nederlandse uitgevers nog geen aanleiding gezien om er een aantal van te gaan vertalen. Dus de enige optie om kennis te maken met het werk van deze schrijver is de boeken in de originele Engelse taal te gaan lezen.

Behalve de eigen boeken heb ik ook een aantal verzamelalbums toegevoegd met meerdere schrijvers waarin een verhaal van Tchaikovsky is opgenomen. De bundel Solaris Rising 2 is eigenlijk overbodig, want het daarin opgenomen verhaal is Feast and Famine wat tevens het hoofdverhaal is van Tchaikovsky's eigen bundel met dezelfde titel die hier ook bij zit. Ik heb Solaris toch maar toegevoegd voor de volledigheid.

Er is één boek dat niet is geschreven door Tchaikovsky en waarin ook geen verhaal van hem staat. Het tweede boek in de After the War reeks is geschreven door Justina Robson. Tchaikovsky heeft met het eerste boek de basis gelegd en andere auteurs kunnen daar op inspringen. Of er nog meer boeken in de reeks verschenen is mij niet duidelijk.

Tchaikovsky meest recente boek is Made Things, een fantasy boek dat wat raakvlakken heeft met Pinokkio. Daarvoor zat de horror/schience fiction novella Walking to Aldebaran. Volgende maand verschijnt een dystopisch science fiction boek Firewalkers en nog later dit jaar The Doors of Eden.
