Re-mastered from the ORIGINAL MASTER TAPES at Battery Studio s New York by Sony s Sean Brennan. Liner Notes by Alex Henderson Zapp was a band out of Dayton,Ohio that pioneered in the latest technical developments & advancements in the music industry. They were among the first funk outfits to experiment with electronic & synthesized sounds,most notably the vocorder aka the talkbox,with extraordinary effects. In fact,Zapp & Roger used these elements in their music so often that it became their specialty sound. Roger Troutman also executed those loud & thunderous electro-handclaps in alot of Zapp & Roger albums. This album released in 1985 is Zapp's crowning achievement in studio recording. The New Zapp 4 U is blazing from start to finish & all the jams are indispensable funk classics. Zapp created a Synthelistic & Groovelistic stratosphere on this classic. Standout tracks include the dance-smash,"It Doesn't Really Matter",the Vocorder-Whipped Groove,"Computer Love",the deliriously funky cut"Itchin' For Your Twitchin'",the Smooth Synth Jam,"Radio People","Rock n Roll",and Zapp's excellent & remarkable rendition of "I Only Have Eyes For You".
