Description
Orange Is the New Black is an American comedy-drama series created by Jenji Kohan, which premiered on July 11, 2013, on Netflix. The series, based on Piper Kerman's memoir Orange Is the New Black: My Year in a Women's Prison (2010), follows Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling), a happily engaged New Yorker who is sent to a women's federal prison for transporting a suitcase full of drug money across international borders, 10 years prior, for her ex-girlfriend, Alex Vause (Laura Prepon). As of June 11, 2015, 39 episodes of Orange Is the New Black have been released, concluding the third season. The series has been renewed for a fourth season, to be released in 2016.
