Description
Fleetwood Mac werd opgericht in juli 1967 door Peter Green. Oorspronkelijk bestond de band naast Green (zang, gitaar en mondharmonica) uit Mick Fleetwood (drums), Jeremy Spencer (gitaar) en Bob Brunning (bas). Green had in 1966 samen met Fleetwood gespeeld in Shotgun Express, een R&B-band waarin Rod Stewart de zang voor zijn rekening nam. In datzelfde jaar nog verliet Green deze groep om Eric Clapton te vervangen in John Mayall's Bluesbreakers. Hier was John McVie de basgitarist. Fleetwood voegde zich begin 1967 ook bij John Mayall's Bluesbreakers. In datzelfde jaar stapten Green, Fleetwood en McVie uit deze band om een nieuw avontuur aan te gaan: Fleetwood Mac.
