Description
De jonge Claressa Shields sluipt een boksschool binnen om met de jongens te sparren. Lokale vrijwilliger-coach Jason Crutchfield neemt haar al snel onder zijn hoede. Claressa blijkt zeer getalenteerd, maar weldra moet Crutchfield verder gaan dan de plichten van een coach om haar op het rechte pad te houden, want ze begint niet alleen de druk van het winnen te voelen, maar ook de blikken van haar belegerde thuisstad Flint, Michigan die hoop zoekt in haar veerkracht.
